I have been single for almost five years and for the past four years I have been threatening to travel on my own, to go on holiday and please nobody but myself however, my nemesis has been my FEAR!
My fear has been a powerful deterrent and prevented me from wondering out in to the big wide world all on my own. The thought of taking a jump into the unknown and exploring a foreign country is quite scary! But I have come to realise that if I don’t man-up then I am going to miss out on all that this world can offer me, the views, the culture and the experiences!
In today’s world I won’t be stepping in to the unknown or exploring uncharted territories, I can research everything right here on the internet or even walk down the streets of some distant land thanks to google earth. I just need to relax and remove any fears by researching and planning my trips.
Plus if I get lonely or scared I will always have my phone on me to call for help or just to talk to friends for reassurance and advice.
So if you are like me all I can say is relax and research! You may feel worried, scared or nervous but you’re just as capable as me or anyone else, so pick up your bags and hit the road!
